Get Living, the UK’s leading build-to-rent operator, has launched “What’s in My Home?” – a new cultural exhibition produced by RÆBURN, designer of The Lab E20, the community and sustainability focused creative hub at its East Village neighbourhood. The opening of this new exhibition and programme also marks the launch of The Lab E20’s new cultural partnership with the Crafts Council. The Crafts Council is the national development agency for contemporary craft and supports Young Craft Citizens, a collective of 16–30-year-olds interested in shaping the future of craft, design and making in the UK.
This year, Raeburn has worked with Get Living to produce ‘REGENERATIVE BY DESIGN’, an expansive programme celebrating London’s cultural innovation across climate action and the circular economy. As part of The Lab E20’s latest cultural programme, Get Living will be supporting the placements of two Young Craft Citizens from neighbouring London boroughs as they gain experience in cultural production, working alongside The Lab E20’s programme partners such as The Sustainable Angle, Hole & Corner Magazine and Fashion Revolution.
Since its launch in 2020, The Lab E20, a 3,500 sq. ft. double-height space on the ground floor of Victory Plaza, has brought together emerging, local and global innovators in fashion, tech and design to share principles of sustainable living with the local community. The Lab E20 is London’s flagship creative hub, designed and produced by Christopher Raeburn in partnership with Get Living. The Young Craft Citizens (Crafts Council) will produce three events in February and March, exploring creative careers, reaching out to young people and engaging family audiences in creative making activities. Young participants will have the opportunity to bring their ideas to life in the space, through events that connect young audiences to the Craft Council’s theme ‘Regenerative by Design: what’s in my home’.

Through this new partnership Crafts Council will work to support two members of our Young Craft Citizens network from the neighbouring boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Camden to lead the programming of three events at The Lab E20.”

Previous partners with the Lab E20 include the British Fashion Council’s Institute of Positive Fashion, helping establish East Village as the gateway to London’s Innovation District, East Bank, and the Fashion District.

As the national charity for craft, Crafts Council works to support the craft sector by inspiring making, empowering learning and nurturing craft businesses.
Since its launch in 2017, Crafts Council’s Young Craft Citizens programme has worked with young Londoners to give them an insight into the craft and creative sectors by offering paid work experience, the opportunity to lead their own projects and events, and workshops and visits that help demystify ‘creative’ jobs—from studio visits to exhibition tours. The programme particularly supports young people from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the creative industries.
