Come and celebrate Elephant and Castle’s rich Latin American heritage with a stunning new mural at Castle Square, right next to our Elephant Central neighbourhood!
Created in collaboration with Global Street Art and South London artist Cee, this colourful mural is part of the London Mural Festival, the city’s biggest celebration of street art.
Inspired by the bold colours of hand-painted shop signs seen across Latin America, Cee’s use of bright, lively colours reflects the vibrant spirit of Elephant and Castle’s community.
The artwork is filled with bold, beautiful flowers that are native to Latin America, including Orchids, Heliconias, and Hibiscus. These flowers celebrate the influence of Latin American culture on the area, with 10% of Southwark’s population identifying as Latin American—many of whom call Elephant and Castle home.
Cee is a London-born artist with over a decade of graffiti experience. After graduating from Camberwell College of the Arts in 2018, she has explored her unique illustrative style across various mediums for both commercial and personal projects.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just looking to explore the neighbourhood, be sure to visit and experience the mural in person!
