When we think of things to do in Surrey, we think of rolling hills, independent eateries and pubs, quaint villages and serene walks. The county lives up to its green reputation with an abundance of access to nature, with many National Trust sites, cycle routes, parks on offer. Surrey is regularly voted as one of the best places to live in England, and one of the safest. Bike racks, great coffee, free Wi-Fi – Charlie and Ginger have been serving Leatherhead locals for years, shelving high brow coffee shop interiors but retaining their passion and craft. If you’re celebrating an occasion, special event or just want a night of luxury, head to Sorrel’s. The Michelin starred restaurant serves phenomenal British fare, with two a la carte set menus. Be sure to get your reservation in early as it’s nearly always booked.
If you’re looking for something further east, Thai Lotusland serves up homestyle Thai dishes from Farnham. From mixed starters for your group for a bit of everything, to classic Pad Thai’s or delicate Mango Sticky rice, they’ve been bringing flavour to Farnham for years.
Michelin Guide gastro pub serving refined modern British food in 15th century style architecture. The pub focuses on local ingredients, with a set lunch, a la carte and more relaxed options too.
Lovely, independent, dog-friendly country pub just outside of Guildford with a specialty and focus on seasonal seafood, with local produce. The pub also features live music and events throughout the year.
This pub in Clandon is 15 mins from Guildford station, nestled away and serving some incredible British classics. Focused on local ingredients, they use what’s in season to provide elevated pub classics, sharers and boards. A huge beer garden, extensive cocktail list and great wine round it off as a perfect Sunday spot.
Cosy pub in Leatherhead with a variety of drinks, live music, outside terrace and cosy fireplace for the wintertime. The menu ranges from exciting takes on British Pub classics, with pub snack sharer starters and fresh seafood. Delicious.
Local Indian restaurant in Epsom, serving some of the best Indian food in the area. They’re in the Michelin Guide, with culinary director Sanjay Gour providing an exciting menu with modern twists on Indian classics.

England’s largest single estate vineyard has been producing wine for over 30 years, crafting some of the finest English wine. What’s more, you can soak up some sun and try their offerings in their wine tasting and buy their wine by the bottle. Perfect for summer.
Over 600 years old, this Leatherhead staple has been serving locals since 1403. Perfect for the post walk pint, they have excellent cellarman-ship, with a great selection of ales, as well as fantastic food and live jazz once a month.
Independent coffee shop serving some of the best coffees in Surrey, with some home delivery available. With great views of the River Wey, it’s the perfect spot for a take-five, and worth the drive there.

Cosy 17th century pub and B&B perched right on the River Wey, offering stunning views and peaceful afternoon drinks in their beer garden. With an extensive wine list and great beer selection and rooms to escape too.

Serving distinct pour over and treats in a building from 1475, Pinnocks is a must visit for a sweet treat and pick me up. They have over 7 coffees to choose from and 14 teas, plus their famous ‘Hot Chocolate Melt’.
Up market pub with rooms in the heart of Weybridge, book here in the summer for a Hugo Spritz and some delicious pub food. Set in an old post office, be sure to check out their iconic ‘Post Horses’ mural. They offer chic hotel rooms too, in case you’re in need of a weekend getaway.

Set in a lush country estate, the famous manmade grotto of awe inspiring crystals and pools in the grounds of Painshill Park has been delighting visitors for years.
The gallery is dedicated to the work of the Victorian-era painter and sculptor George Frederic Watts. With contemporary gallery, artists homes, tea shop and cemetery chapel, it’s a perfect way to soak up some arts and culture.

The iconic Box hill is a mere 10 mins from Leatherhead. It’s arguably one of the most famous places of interest in Surrey, offering stunning views of the rolling Surrey hills. It’s the Surrey hike, with amazing views across the county. Take your picnic baskets, a bottle and some snacks and relax in the basking sun.
Lovely walkway across a babbling river, it’s within the Box Hill grounds and great to stop and drink it all in. You’ll pass one of Box Hill’s oldest buildings, the Fort, and soak in the lush forest on your way.
