Get Living has concluded the purchase of its fourth location, a 5-acre site at Globe Road in the South Bank area of Leeds City Centre.
The Globe Road site has lapsed planning consent and Get Living hopes to bring a new residential neighbourhood comprising more than 700 homes for rent. Get Living will be carrying out detailed planning for the neighbourhood, aiming to start construction of the entire project, in a single phase, within 18 months.
Leeds is Get Living’s second location outside London, following the purchase of a site in Glasgow’s Merchant City earlier this year.
Rick de Blaby, Deputy Chairman of Get Living, commented,
“When we announced Glasgow in February, we promised that there would be more to come, and we are pleased to confirm our expansion to the South Bank area of Leeds. A location that is just a few minutes’ walk from Leeds Station.
“We launched Get Living four years ago and look forward to bringing the experience we have gained at East Village to the vibrant and growing city of Leeds. With this addition, our portfolio has grown to more than 6,000 homes and we continue to look ahead to further purchases before the end of the year.”
Neil Young, CEO of Get Living, added,
“We will continue to revolutionise the sector, giving renters new levels of quality and customer experience in vibrant, well-connected neighbourhoods. There is an appetite for the high quality, professionally managed homes, flexible service and safe, well-maintained environments that Get Living offers, not only in London, but across the UK. I’m looking forward to working with local stakeholders in bringing the Get Living rental experience to Leeds.”
